Planning Commission

The Planning Commission conducts studies and surveys and reviews plans, reports and maps relative to the overall planning of the growth, development, redevelopment, rehabilitation, and the renewal of the Municipality. The Planning Commission typically reviews and reports to the Council its recommendations concerning  planning and zoning matters. Other powers and duties of the Planning Commission include those established by Village Charter (see 7.04) and by the Council by ordinance or resolution.

Membership

There shall be a Planning Commission consisting of seven Council appointed members: two of whom shall be members of Council and  appointed for a term of one year; and five citizen members that will serve four year overlapping terms of office. "Citizen members" of the Planning Commission must be lawfully registered voters in the Village of Waynesville and may hold no other municipal office (See 7.03 of Village Charter). Anyone interested in filling a vacancy on the Planning Commission may apply at the Village offices.
