The Village of Waynesville Police Department recently received a donation of handmade bears from the Waynesville Knitters group.  The stuffed animals are the result of months of work by the group and will be given out by officers to upset or frightened children.  Officers routinely encounter young children traumatized by events where law enforcement must intervene.  The animals provide some comfort in an uncertain time.  Anyone is welcome to join the Waynesville Knitters and donations of yarn are accepted.  Meetings are held Mondays at 1:30pm at St. Augustine Church on Lytle Road.
