Citizen Police Academy Thank you for your interest in the Village of Waynesville Citizen Police Academy. The purpose of the Academy is to increase the understanding between members of our community and members of local law enforcement. Our goal is to improve the overall working relationship of citizens and officers and to form a partnership for a safer village. During this ten-week course we cover the following topics: 1. Community Policing and Crime Prevention 2. Laws of Arrest and Traffic Stops 3. Domestic Violence and Victims of Crimes 4. Criminal and Death Investigation 5. Patrol Functions and Ride Along Program 6. Risk Management and First Aid Class 7. Warrant Search and Seizure Laws 8. Drug Identification and Narcotics Investigation 9. Self Defense and Weapon Retention 10. Building Searches and Tactical Entry If you are interested in attending a future Waynesville Citizen Police Academy, please contact Stephanie Morgan (Academy Liaison) for an application.
