Garbage and Refuse Collection ProceduresEvery home is supplied with a trash toter with a Weight limit of 200 lbs. One person must be able to easily lift all other containers. Construction materials must be bundled and no longer than 4 ft. in length. If one person can easily lift a large item it will be picked up. For larger items, pick up arrangements must be made through Rumpke. All garbage must be drained and wrapped. Hot ashes will not be accepted. No hazardous materials (car batteries, oil, antifreeze, tires, etc.) RecyclingRecyclable items shall be placed is separate container (provided for you), and will be picked up by a separate truck. Items to recycle are glass, aluminum and metal cans, newspapers, and plastics (marked with #1 or #2 on the bottom). Recyclable items may be stored together for collection, with the exception of cardboard boxes and newspaper. They should be tied in small bundles and placed next to the recycling container. Yard Waste CollectionYard waste will be picked up on regular pick up days by a separate truck. There is a 75-pound limit. Brush must be tied in bundles (with cotton twine) not to exceed 4 (four) foot in length or two foot in diameter, with a weight limit of 75 lbs. Large limbs (exceeding 8 inches in diameter) and trees will not be accepted. Leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, etc. shall be placed in brown paper bags (available at the Village office 5 bags for $2.75) or in a separate garbage can marked “Yard Waste”. (Yard waste stickers are also available at the Village office at no charge) Yard waste in plastic bags will not be picked up!
The above collections shall be made at the curb by three different trucks – Please have all items placed at the curb no later than 6:00 A.M. on Monday’s. If the above collections are not made please notify our office at 897-8015 before 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Trash, recycling and yard waste is picked up by three different trucks and must be kept separate. Christmas and New Year’s Day are the only days Rumpke does not pick up. |
